Dear Marion Residents, Last week’s “catastrophic and generational” storm brought over 12 inches of rain across Marion. While we were spared the worst of the winds and tornadoes, our hearts go out to our neighbors who weren’t as fortunate — especially the City of Sunset and Pleasant Grove MB Church. A huge thank you to the city staff, community partners, and volunteers who worked around the clock to keep Marion safe — from delivering sandbags and managing flood pumps to clearing culverts and helping stranded drivers. Your teamwork made a real difference. The storm revealed some areas we’ll need to improve before the next big rain, and we’re already working on it. Mayor Tracy Brick
