City Council Meetings
The Council regularly meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm, subject to occasional change. Meetings are held at City Hall. See council meeting minutes here.
Holiday trash pick-up schedule changes will be posted here as needed.
INDEPENDENCE DAY: The Sanitation Department will be closed on Friday, July 3 for Independence Day. Friday's trash will be collected the following Monday.
LABOR DAY: The Sanitation Department will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labor Day. Monday's trash will be collected the following day.
THANKSGIVING: The Sanitation Department will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26 & 27 for Thanksgiving. Some or all of Thursday's route will be run the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving Day, and the remainder of the Thursday and Friday routes will be run the following Monday.
CHRISTMAS: The Sanitation Department will be closed Thursday and Friday, December 24 & 25. Those routes will be run the following Monday and Tuesday.
The City of Marion utilizes a one-arm truck for trash pick-up, meaning that cans will be picked up by the arm of the truck. Residents are asked to take extra care to be sure your garbage can is placed close to the road and out of the way from anything that would block the truck arm movement, including vehicles, mailboxes, etc. For garbage and recycling pick-up schedules, replacement trash cans, or other trash-related questions, please contact City Hall at 870-739-5410.
Used Tire Disposal - Tire disposal is available at the city shop, located on Hardin Road for both businesses and residents. The hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 to 3:30. There is no charge at the time of service, but bills will be sent out quarterly for each tire. The tire prices are: $1.75/passenger tires; $5/semi-truck tires; $26/implement tires.

Water Dept. - Regular office hours are Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:30pm, closed Friday.
